Pearls of Wisdom

Do you have favorite little sayings that resonate with you perfectly when you hear them? You know, the Pearls of Wisdom that, when you hear them, you say, "that is so profound," or "my sentiments exactly."

I thought we'd have a contest over the next ten weeks to see how many different and profound Pearls of Wisdom we can come up with. Be sure you give credit to the author. Once you get going, you'll think of all kinds of sayings. I'll start:
