I thought we'd have a contest over the next ten weeks to see how many different and profound Pearls of Wisdom we can come up with. Be sure you give credit to the author. Once you get going, you'll think of all kinds of sayings. I'll start:
1. "No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." - Albert Einstein
2. "Modern man is sick because he is not whole." - Carl Jung
3. "The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones." - Chinese Proverb
4. "The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits." - Author unknown
5. "A penny saved is a penny earned." - Benjamin Franklin

6. "Unless we put medical freedom into the Constitution, the time will come when medicine will organize into an undercover dictatorship to restrict the art of healing to one class of men and deny eual privileges to others; the Constitution of the Republic should make a special privilege for medical freedoms as well as religious freedom." - Benjamin Rush, MD, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and personal physician to George Washington
7. "Vitality and beauty are gifts of Nature for those who live according to its laws." - Leonardo Da Vinci
8. "Disease is the warning and therefore, the friend - not the enemy - of mankind." - Dr. George S. Weger
9. "Forgiveness, love and our connection with the Divine is the medicine that is healing the sickness of our time." - J. Artos Roske
10. "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." - Your mother
11. "Stupid is as stupid does." - Forrest Gump's mother
I have always loved Chinese proverbs, not the food though. "The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones." this Chinese Proverb is all about the virtue of patience, consistency, and hard work. All those pearls of wisdon are great, but I relate to this one because my grandmother used to tell me a similar saying in Arabic, "The one thousand mile marathoon starts with only one step", God bless my grandmother's soul, but she was a very wise woman and every time I am whining about homework or how long I have been doing something, she used to tell me that saying and also tell me when that the taste of success will taste sweeter if I worked harder and that I believe is true.
